7 DAYS: THE BEST OF RWANDA
An amazing experience: you will first visit the Parc National des Volcans where you will track the rare mountain gorillas and golden monkeys as well as visiting the famous Dian Fossey Research Centre, before travelling south to Nyungwe National Park where you will see many other primates in the forests.
Day 1: Kigali to Parc National des Volcans
Your Homestead Tours and Safaris guide will meet you at Kigali Airport. From Kigali Airport, the drive north west to the Parc National des Volcans (Volcanoes National Park) will take 3-4 hours. You will stay in one of the many lodges or guest houses close to the Park. From here you will depart tomorrow for the gorilla tracking!
Your international flight needs to arrive some time before 1 pm local time if you are travelling to the Park the same day. If your flight is arriving later, we will book a room for you in Kigali at cost price. We will then pick you up from Kigali the next day.
Day 2: Parc National des Volcans - Gorilla Trekking
Today is the big day… Prepare yourself for an encounter with some of the Park’s gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas. Have an early morning breakfast, ready to trek to the gorillas in the Park. Depending on your level of fitness, you may be asked to choose the group you wish to trek to, the closest being about two hours from the Park boundary.
